 Woofers was founded in November 2003 by mother/daughter team Ann Todd and Wesley Ann Wakeman. Their Boston terrier, Maxwell, had always loved food, chewies and plush toys. Because of this, he was overweight, had health problems and watched his toys thrown away after they damaged his teeth. Ann and Wesley tried almost every type of food to help Max loose weight. During this time, another Boston Terrier, Taylor, joined the family. Taylor made the food finding mission more difficult because she had a poor immune system and was very picky. Falling short in finding foods to fulfill their needs, the tide changed when a friend introduced the ladies to the world of holistic foods.
After only a few months of an all-natural, holistic diet, Max began to effortlessly loose weight. Both dogs' health drastically improved, and Taylor actually liked eating her food! Ann and Wesley were thrilled with the results, but not able to locally find the natural products. High shipping costs quickly put a damper on their joy, and soon they found that other dog owners were having the same problem. Therefore, they began a small store where people and their pets could come to find nutritional foods, gourmet treats, and durable toys.
Woofers was founded on and is committed to the principle of offering the best pet products with the best customer service. Ann and Wesley want the best for their dogs and want to share that with you and the furry member of your family. While Maxwell is no longer here, his mommies firmly believe that he lived as long as he did because of the holistic foods now found at Woofers. Woofers researches new foods, toys, and health products while striving to be the most knowledgeable in holistic pet supplies. Every product sold is tested on Ann and Wesley's own pets.
